Kevin Morby kan maar beter ook een liedje over Amsterdam hebben geschreven

Een mixtape noemt Kevin Morby zijn nieuwe album. Een conceptplaat zo noemen wij het. Zijn vierde LP krijgt de titel “City Music” mee.

It is a mix-tape, a fever dream, a love letter dedicated to those cities that I cannot get rid of.

Het album verschijnt 16 juni via Dead Oceans. Ook een manier om naar steden te kijken. De eerste single van het twaalf nummers tellende album is ‘Come to Me Now’ waarop Morby een pomp orgel uit de 18e eeuw bespeelt.

This was my favorite part of recording this album, playing this thing and pumping air into it with the foot pedals, it had such a presence from the moment I entered the studio.

For the first few days I think I thought it was just there for looks, that there was no way it still worked, but sure enough it did.

Voor de promotie van zijn nieuwe album “City Music” heeft Kevin Morby een hele lange tour gepland en natuurlijk komt hij ook naar Nederland. 6 juni zal hij in Paradiso staan.

Update 12 april

Vandaag heeft Kevin Morby een tweede nummer uitgebracht. Ook ‘Aboard My Train’ lijkt niet over Amsterdam te gaan.
