Nieuw album The Libertines op komst

Vanochtend maakten diverse nieuwssites via een perscommuniqué bekend dat The Libertines 2 oktober optreden in de Heineken Music Hall. Het is pas het derde optreden in Nederland van The Libertines, waarvan een zonder Pete Doherty. De vorige keer dat The Libertines in Nederland optraden is ook al zeker een decennium geleden. In 2010 speelden The Libertines een reunieconcert op het Britse Reading festival. Een reunie die inmiddels serieuzere vormen aan begint te nemen.

Na wat journalistiek onderzoek kunnen we jullie als eerste Nederlands medium namelijk melden dat Pete Doherty en Carl Barât van The Libertines over niets anders meer praten dan een nieuw album.

A new record is exactly what we’re talking about. That’s the dream, really. Finish off all those ideas that we never completed back in the day, all those songs we never played for anyone else that have been floating around in the ether. We’re also wanting to try out a few new ideas so it wouldn’t just be old stuff. I don’t want to tempt fate but we both have the desire, so I think it will happen. Europese tour The Libertines

Het optreden in de HMH, Amsterdam staat niet op zichzelf. Er is sprake van een heus tourschema.

Pete Doherty heeft laten weten dat Jack White te kennen heeft gegeven graag de nieuwe plaat van The Libertines te willen produceren!
