Na de singles ‘Stronger’ en ‘Godsend’ laat Brandon Williams vlak voor de feestdagen weer van zich horen met een uitmuntende Christmas EP. Op de EP “Christmas Card” staan vijf traditionals die door Brandon Williams van een prachtig nieuw arrangement zijn voorzien.
Zo wordt met zangeres Sherry Gay-Dagnogo het overbekende ‘White Christmas’ nieuw leven ingeblazen. ‘Greensleeves (What Child Is This)” lijkt in handen van Brandon Williams in niets meer op het nummer dat ik verplicht moest uitvoeren van mijn gitaarleraar. Deze versie is een genot om naar te luisteren, mede door het fluwelen gitaarspel van de Siciliaanse Toty Viola.
‘The Christmas Song’ is een samenwerking met Frank McComb die met Buckshot LeFonque een classic op zijn heeft staan.
“Christmas Time Is Here” roept de sfeer van de hoogstaande producties van Stevie Wonder uit de jaren ’70. Het zou heerlijk zijn geweest zijn stem hierop te horen. Wie weet wat de toekomst ons brengt.

The well known ‘White Christmas’ even gets a second life by the vocals of Sherry Gay-Dagnogo.’In the hands of Brandon Williams ‘Greensleeves (What Child Is This) doesn’t sound at all like the song I had to perform from my music teacher. This version is a treat to listen to, also because of the velvet guitarplay of Toty Viola from Sicily.
‘The Christmas Song’ is a collaboration with Frank McComb who made a classic with Buckshot LaFonque.
‘Christmas Time Is Here’ recalls the high quality production of Stevie Wonder from the seventies. It would have been wonderful hearing his voice on this production. But who knows what the future brings.
